Project Description
This project will explore ways to improve De Anza Boulevard following a Complete Streets approach, which emphasizes transforming the existing vehicle-centric transportation network to one that is safer and more accessible for all modes of travel. A list of common Complete Streets project elements is provided below. The list is meant to illustrate the philosophy behind the Complete Streets approach, though not everything in the list may be applicable to De Anza Boulevard.
- Intersection safety improvements for pedestrians.
- Bicycle lanes and intersection treatments like bike boxes for cyclists.
- Traffic calming, street lighting, and other general roadway safety improvements.
- Accessible pedestrian curb ramps and Accessible Pedestrian Signals.
Project Updates
October 2026
The City is preparing to conduct preliminary public outreach that will help determine whether Complete Streets improvements will be incorporated into an upcoming street maintenance project that will repave De Anza Boulevard between Polhemus Road and State Route 92.
