Ordinance Alert: the City Council adopted an ordinance on December 1, 2025 entitled, "Residential Tenant Protection Program," which adds Chapter 10.100 to the San Mateo Municipal Code. Chapter 10.100 requires landlords to provide written notice to tenants by February 1, 2026 and to include language in leases or rental agreements.
