2033 La Salle Drive (Carey School)– New Educational Facility

Project Description

This project proposes the demolition of an existing single-family residence and an ADU to construct a new early education center providing preschool services for up to 75 students. The proposed center consists of a single-story building, approximately 5,895 square feet in size, along with a 100-square-foot trash enclosure. The development includes five classrooms, as well as ancillary and support spaces such as a multipurpose area, a reception area, an office, a teacher workroom, an outdoor play area, and a teaching garden.

On December 9, 2025, the Planning Commission held a public hearing and recommended approval of the project to the City Council by a vote of 4–0. The City Council approved the project on January 12, 2026 by a vote of 5-0.
