  1. CDD Permit Center - Limited Advance Appointments During Stay At Home Order
    In-person appointments will be limited for those who are picking up permits with approved hard copy plans. CDD Permit Center advance appointments are available M-F between 8:30-11:30 a.m. and can be requested by directly contacting a Building Division staff member or emailing building.info@cityofsanmateo.org.  Before coming to City Hall, please make sure you review and understand the Social Distancing Protocols for City Hall Visitors.
The Planning Division plans for the physical, social, and economic development of the City. It  ensures compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) for public and private projects. The Planning and Building Divisions work together when reviewing private development projects to achieve high quality and long-term economic growth.

Introducing Our New Self-Service Online Permit Center

We now accept, review, receive payments, and issue planning entitlements and building permits through our online permit center.

The Citizen Self-Service (CSS) Portal let’s you search records by address, date range, permit number, or parcel number – you can also use the interactive map search feature.
