Project Description
The project consists of modifications to Planning Application (PA) 1997-033 Conditions of Approval, which was previously approved by City Council on May 18, 1998, to allow interior changes to an existing building to replace ten (10) live-work units with ten (10) residential units with modifications to the previously approved conditions of approval. No exterior expansions are proposed. The project also consists of a Zoning Map Amendment, or change in zoning designation, of the 20,104 sq. ft. western portion of the property along Jasmine Street at 1528 S. El Camino Real, from R3 (Multiple Family Dwellings – Medium Density) to C2-1/R4 (Regional/Community Commercial with Residential Overlay District – Mixed Use). This would result in a single zone for the entire lot and align the property’s zoning designation with its Mixed-Use Medium II land use designation per General Plan 2040.
Project Update
- City Council approved the zoning map amendment and Site Plan and Architecture Review (SPAR) on Monday, June 17, 2024 (see below for meeting details).
- Planning Commission considered the project and unanimously recommended that the City Council approve the zoning map amendment and Site Plan and Architecture Review (SPAR) on Tuesday, April 23, 2024.
- A neighborhood meeting was held on September 19, 2023.
