Project Description

The California Water Service Company (Cal Water) has submitted a Planning Application proposing to demolish and replace an existing water pump station located on the northwest corner of Alameda de las Pulgas and Portola Drive. The project proposes the following:

  • Replace an existing one-story, 480 square-foot water pump station building. The new building will be composed of concrete masonry wall material and a plywood and fiberglass shingle roof.
  • New building foundation, station water pipes, electrical and associated infrastructure to provide continued service for the San Mateo water system. The proposed improvements would require removal of two (2) Magnolia street trees.
  • Landscape improvements to include new plants, mulch, drip line irrigation and steppingstone paths throughout the site.

Project Update

On October 12, 2021, the Planning Commission approved the project by vote of 4-0.
