Computers, Printing, Copying, and Scanning

Computers


Public PC computers are available at all libraries. Logging in with your library card number allows you up to 3 hours of computer usage per day. Computers have Microsoft Office (2016) products and Edge and Chrome as browsers. You cannot download documents or software onto the hard drive but these may be downloaded onto a flash drive.  

Chromebooks can be borrowed at the Accounts Desk for up to 3 weeks for San Mateo Public Library cardholders. They are not renewable.

Copying


Black and white photocopiers are available at all libraries. The Main Library's photocopier is on the 2nd floor. Copies are 15 cents a page. Payment may be made by coins or bills. Letter and legal sized paper is available.

Faxing


A free public fax machine is available at the Main Library on the 2nd floor.

Printing


Color or black and white printing is possible from any library computer. With your library card number, you have a credit of 45 cents per day for printing. Black and white printouts are 15 cents a page and color printouts are 30 cents a page. You may pay for your printouts with coins, bills, or credit cards.


Scanning


A free public scanner is available at the Main Library on the 2nd floor. You may email your scanned documents or save them to a flash drive, Google Drive, Drop Box, or other cloud based services.

WiFi


Free WiFi is available at each of our libraries. See the Wireless Services and Printing Page for more information.

MiFi devices may be borrowed with a San Mateo Public Library card for up to 3 weeks at the Accounts Desk. They cannot be renewed.
