You must be a City of San Mateo resident to reserve a picnic area or court.
The City of San Mateo defines residents as those who live within the boundaries of the City of San Mateo and the jurisdiction of it’s municipal corporation. There are unincorporated parts of San Mateo, which are under the jurisdiction of the County of San Mateo and residents of that area are County residents.
All reservations must follow the current City, County, and State COVID-19 recommendations. Currently, all picnic rentals must meet the following criteria:
Picnic Renter expressly assumes any, and all, risk relating to any illness, injury, infection, economic injury, or death arising from or relating to the picnic rental, except where caused by the active negligence or willful misconduct of the City.
Those with symptoms must not attend
Those at high risk of severe illness strongly encouraged not to attend
Please note that all reservations are subject to further review by staff.
Picnic reservations are available through Dec. 30, 2022.
You may use our online picnic rental service to reserve your picnic area. Our picnic areas are very popular, so we recommend booking your picnic area as early as possible.
