Project Description
A Special Use Permit (SUP) to allow a daycare/pre-school use and a separate children’s basketball training use within the former Boys and Girls Club building located at the corner of N. Quebec Street and Monte Diablo Avenue. No expansion of the existing structure is proposed. The proposed uses included:
- A new children’s basketball training camp (Team12Sports) for 3rd – 8th graders within the basketball gym and sports rooms area of the former Boys and Girls Club.
- A new pre-school and daycare operation (Icademy Learning Center) offering services for children aged 2-7 years located in the former classroom areas of the former Boys and Girls Club. This use was eliminated prior to Planning Commission consideration.
Project Updates
- Planning Commission anonymously approved the Special Use Permit on February 25, 2025.
- Updated project scope to eliminate the pre-school and daycare operation on December 19, 2024.
- A Planning Application for a Special Use Permit was submitted on November 11, 2023.
- A neighborhood meeting was held on November 1, 2023.
