City of San Mateo Residents and non-profit organizations may book a picnic site online up to 9 months before the day of their event.

The City of San Mateo defines residents as those who live within the boundaries of the City of San Mateo and the jurisdiction of it’s municipal corporation. There are unincorporated parts of San Mateo, which are under the jurisdiction of the County of San Mateo and residents of that area are County residents.

Non-residents and businesses can book up to 3 months before the day of their event.

Non-profit organizations must present IRS documentation such as 501(c)(3).

Jumper permits - $29.00 per reservation (jumper permits are not available at all locations and must be requested at least 5 business days prior to event date)
Alcohol permits - $56.00 per reservation (alcohol permits are not available at all locations and must be requested at least 5 business days prior to event date)
Clean up fee - $285.00
- The approved applicant and/or organization will be responsible for any damage or loss sustained on the grounds, building, furnishings, and equipment (or unusual clean up required) as a result of the applicant's and/or organization's occupancy of the facility). Failure to pay this clean up fee will result in revocation of reservation privileges.

Fees are subject to change per the current adopted Comprehensive Fee Schedule.

All reservations must follow the current City, County, and State COVID-19 recommendations.

Reservations are subject to further review by staff.
