Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)

The City of San Mateo receives annual funding through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The CDBG program provides resources to address a wide range of community development needs principally for low-income households. CDBG can be used to provide services and home repairs to the most vulnerable in our community, make capital improvements to the lower income neighborhoods, and to assist the expansion and micro businesses.
