If you are a high school student looking to gain leadership skills, give back to your community and be an active member of a teen board, then look no further! The Youth Activities Council represents the youth voice of San Mateo’s teens.
The Youth Activities Council's mission is to provide experiences and opportunities for the youth and teen population of San Mateo by:
- Providing safe and enjoyable activities
- Creating community through special events
- Empowering youth to have a voice in the community.
- Volunteer opportunities to get involved, and make a difference!
How to Apply for the Youth Activities Council
- You must be a resident of San Mateo and/or attend high school in San Mateo.
- YAC applications are due no later than Wednesday, August 23, 2023.
- Interviews will be held the week of August 28, 2023.

Still in middle school?
- If you are in middle school, and looking to gain experience in leadership & giving back to your community, then join our YAC(it) team!
- The Youth Activities Council (in training) provides middle school students an introductory experience to work with our High School YAC members who represent the youth’s voice of San Mateo teens!
- The Youth Activities Council has not voting middle school student who participate in meetings and community projects.
- You must be a resident of San Mateo and/or attend middle school in San Mateo.
- YAC(it) applications are due no later than Wednesday, August 23, 2023.
- Interviews will be held the week of August 28, 2023.
