San Mateo County Genealogical Society Collection

The San Mateo County Genealogical Society supports the study of family history on the San Francisco peninsula and beyond through its collections, educational programs, and research services.

Located on the 2nd floor of the Main Library, the San Mateo County Genealogical Society's print collection contains books, periodicals, maps, and records. All items are library use only and cannot be borrowed. Items in the collection can be found by searching their library catalog. The collection is available during the San Mateo Main Library's open hours.

Reference Assistance

Volunteers from the San Mateo County Genealogical Society provide reference assistance on the dates listed below on the 2nd floor of the Main Library. Tours of the genealogy library are offered on the 3rd Tuesday of the month. San Mateo Public Library staff are not available to provide genealogical research assistance.
