ADA Accommodation Information

In accordance with the requirements of Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 ("ADA"), the City of San Mateo will not discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities on the basis of disability in its services, programs, or activities.

The purpose of this site is to assist the public in understanding the legal requirements the City and the community must adhere to, and provide resources for accessibility and additional information.

Class/Program Modification Request: We encourage and support the participation of individuals with all ability levels in programs and services. This includes those with disabilities and in need of reasonable program modifications in order to participate. Reasonable program modification requests for class/program(s) listed in the Activity Guide are submitted with the registration form describing the modification requested.

Special Accommodations for Programs, Services, Activities, and Facilities

Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity should contact our Public Works Department at publicworks@cityofsanmateo.org or call (650) 522-7300 as soon as possible but no later than 48 hours before the scheduled event.
