Climate Action Plan

The City of San Mateo has a long-standing commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainability.  The City Council adopted the Climate Action Plan (CAP) in April 2015.  The CAP demonstrates the City's leadership  to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and exceed the California state target of 1990 emissions levels by 2020.

The Climate Action Plan provides a comprehensive list of community-wide actions that will help reduce GHG emissions originating in the City of San Mateo.  The strategies in the CAP are implemented by the all of the City's departments, its residents and its businesses.
