Apply to Join City Services Academy Class of 2022

Our City Services Academy is finally back! This free and interactive program is a comprehensive, hands-on learning experience that gives participants an in-depth look at how local government works. 

You’ll hear from experts in Parks and Recreation, Police, Fire, Public Works, Library, Finance, Community Development and many more departments. You’ll also learn about City management and our Council. Taught by City staff, participants learn firsthand how the City of San Mateo is managed and operated.

Eligibility & How to Apply

This free academy is open to anyone 18 years or older who works or lives in the City of San Mateo. Space is extremely limited. Registration will close when space fills up or by Aug. 8, 2022. Learn more and apply online. 

Class Schedule

In-person classes are held at different locations throughout the City, meaning participants will get to tour various City facilities!

Wednesdays 6-9 p.m.
August 17 through November 2, 2022 (no class October 5)
