Dear San Mateo Resident:

The City of San Mateo is inviting you to share your ideas and experiences to shape the future of housing in our community. We want to know how housing issues have affected you and your neighbors. Over the next few months, the City will gather ideas to prepare our Housing Element update and its Annual Action Plan for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program.

The Community Relations Commission will host the first workshop for the purpose of learning about your needs and concerns such as housing affordability, being able to live close to employment, housing for those with special needs, fair housing, displacement, and more.

Additional workshops will be announced to further develop programs and policies to address these needs. We also want to hear about other community needs, not related to housing, to shape our spending priorities for CDBG.

The workshop will be held as a part of the regular Community Relations Commission meeting on September 29, 2021 online via Zoom, at 7pm. An agenda and instructions on how to join the virtual meeting will be posted in the City’s Public Meeting Portal the week before the meeting.
