Virology 101

Monday, April 19, 2021

What ARE viruses? Columbia University professor Dr. Vincent Racaniello explains what viruses are and how they work, followed by a wide-ranging discussion on the COVID-19 pandemic. He will cover the origins of the virus, the disease, how it is diagnosed, and efforts to develop vaccines and antiviral drugs. He will describe a plausible scenario for the end of the pandemic and how future similar outbreaks might be avoided. Presentation will be followed with a Q&A. This program is presented by the library's Biotechnology Learning Center.
