Writers Helping Writers with Mark Dooley

Wednesday, December 11, 2019

Hear California Writers Club member Mark Dooley talk about using negative space in your writing at this month's Writers Helping Writers program. ** Laurel Room, 1st Floor **

As Stephen King wrote, “Description begins in the writer’s imagination, but should finish in the reader’s.” When we take advantage of negative space in our writing, we invite our readers to share in the worlds we’ve created. They fill the gaps with their own images and emotions creating an integrated world from our stories. We’ll explore the omitted and obscure via visual metaphor, examples, and skill exercises to share among the attendees.

Mark Dooley of the California Writers Club-SF Peninsula Branch leads the session.
