As Stephen King wrote, “Description begins in the writer’s imagination, but should finish in the reader’s.” When we take advantage of negative space in our writing, we invite our readers to share in the worlds we’ve created. They fill the gaps with their own images and emotions creating an integrated world from our stories. We’ll explore the omitted and obscure via visual metaphor, examples, and skill exercises to share among the attendees.
