Street Sweeping Program Improvements - Informational Meeting

By 2022, the San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Board will require the City of San Mateo to prevent all trash from entering the bay through the storm sewer system. The City’s street sweeping program helps to meet this goal by picking up trash from the street before it can be washed into the bay. Staff will be adjusting the sweeping routes and frequency to match the trash generated on each street. Some additional parking restriction signs will also be added. These route and signage changes will be implemented by the end of 2017. Informational meetings are scheduled for August 24 and September 7, 2017.
