PA Extension Code Amendment

Project Description

The City is proposing to update the Zoning Code to allow for extension of approved Planning Applications for up to two-years from the date of original Planning Application approval, provided specific criteria are met. Specifically, the amendment would modify section 27.08.087 of the Zoning Code. Amendments to the zoning code require a recommendation from the Planning Commission and approval by City Council.

Project Update

The proposed ordinance is below. A Planning Commission public hearing was held on August 8, 2023 where the Commission reviewed the proposed ordinance and recommended approval by a 5-0 vote. A City Council public hearing will be held on September 5, 2023, for the Ordinance Introduction. If the Council approves introduction of the Ordinance, the item would be brought back for adoption through a second reading at a subsequent City Council meeting. The Ordinance would become effective 30-days after adoption. Please contact the City Staff listed below for comments or questions.
