The Bermuda Drive Bridge Replacement Project is a vital public infrastructure improvement undertaken to address structural deficiencies and seismic risks associated with the existing 1954 structure. This project will enhance the long-term safety, durability, and performance of the bridge while also improving aesthetics for vehicular and pedestrian users, as well as the broader public community.


Construction Timeline

January 2026 (Phase 1): Construction mobilization

February 2026: Pile milling and Fiesta Meadows Park southwest parking lot closure

April 2026: Trail closure and dewatering activities

April 2026 - October 2026: Pile drilling and west side roadway bridge construction

November 2026 - March 2027: Winter construction shutdown

April 2027 (Phase 2): Remobilization & trail closure

April 2027 - July 2028: Dewatering activities; East side roadway bridge construction; Sidewalk construction; Fiesta Meadows Park parking lot grinding and overlay

July 2028: Construction is complete. Normal vehicular and pedestrian access resumes

Phasing

Phase 1 (January 2026 - October 2026): East side of the bridge will remain open.

Phase 2 (April 2027 - July 2028): West side of the bridge will remain open.

Traffic Impacts

Traffic over the bridge will be reduced to one-way operation, with stop signs placed to ensure adequate sight distance for approaching vehicles.
