Bermuda Bridge Replacement ProjectProject Details

The Bermuda Drive Bridge Replacement Project is a crucial infrastructure upgrade aimed at addressing structural deficiencies and seismic vulnerabilities of the existing bridge, which was built in 1954. The project will not only enhance the safety and durability of the bridge but also improve its aesthetics and functionality, benefiting the residents and the broader community.

Construction Sequencing

Based on valuable feedback from the community, the project will be carried out using a two-phase construction approach. This method will maintain vehicular and pedestrian access to the impacted neighborhoods throughout the construction process, minimizing disruptions to the community.

The two-phase approach was chosen based on feedback from the community, prioritizing safety of the impacted neighborhoods, and maintaining access to the housing development during construction. Moreover, since the Bermuda Bridge is the only vehicular access to the adjacent housing development, one-season construction, requiring full closure of the Bridge, is not possible.
