The City is working on updating the City’s zoning code to provide a clear and streamlined review procedure for City projects, clarify the process for changes/modifications to approved planning applications, and clarify building height limitations and exemptions. Specifically, amendments to the following sections of the zoning code are proposed: 27.02.060 Use and Bulk, 27.02.140 Exceptions, 27.06.020 Zoning Administrator – Powers and Duties, 27.06.050 Council Consideration and Determination, and 27.08.080 Modifications. Amendments to the zoning code require a recommendation from the Planning Commission and approval by City Council.
On May 9, 2023 the Planning Commission held a public hearing to review the proposed ordinance and recommended approval by a 5-0 vote. The proposed ordinance is scheduled to be introduced to the City Council at the July 17, 2023 public hearing, followed by a second reading for adoption. If approved, the ordinance would become effective 30-days after adoption. Please contact the City Staff listed below for comments or questions.
