NEW! Jr Chef Stars: Jr Chef Box: age 6-16 yrs.

Looking for a hands-on, tasty activity for your Jr. Chef? Your weekly chef box kit will contain delicious ingredients and instructions to make a meal for up to 4 people! There is no hassle of signing into another zoom meeting, your aspiring chef can cook for the family once a week on their own time! A prerecorded video for families who want to follow along is included. Jr Chef Star staff will distribute the chef box kit on Wednesdays, 3:45-4:15pm at the Beresford Recreation Center parking lot.

Play-Well: Jedi Adventures using LEGO®: age 5-10 yrs.

Build your favorite Star Wars Ships, characters, and more with pieces from your own LEGOS® collection! Learn new building techniques and explore engineering principles through open-ended builds that do not require special LEGO® pieces. Program will be offered via Zoom. Out of the Box Kids: Checkmate Chess: age 5-12 yrs.

Learning and training in chess can raise ones IQ, increase creativity, problem- solving skills, improve memory, concentration and reading skills. An introduction to chess, class will be to teach students different movements and values, understanding and strategizing on good trade versus bad trade and ending the game with a checkmate.

Out of the Box Kids: Scratch Computer Coding: age 5-12 yrs.

Out of the Box Kids coding program is designed to foster creativity, reasoning and problem solving. Scratch Programming for Kids focuses on making sure children understand the foundational computer programming (coding) concepts such as sequencing, branching, looping and variables.

Designed for beginners, class provides a strong foundation in the rules and strategies needed to play. Includes opening concepts, recognition of tactical themes, calculation of material exchanges, elementary endgame knowledge, and training games.
