Code Amendment - Affordable Housing Project Near Public Transit - PA20-2020

Additional Waivers or Reductions of Development Standards for AB 1763 Covered Affordable Housing Projects Near Transit

In 2019, the State of California passed AB 1763, which requires cities to allow reduced development standards and density bonuses for certain affordable housing developments. On June 15, 2020, in accordance with the new State law, the City Council reviewed the proposed “Affordable Housing Projects Near Transit” ordinance (along with a “Private Park and Recreational Facility Credit” Code Amendment). The City Council recommended (5-0 vote) to proceed to the second reading of both proposed ordinances for adoption. Both items will be on the July 20, 2020, City Council meeting as consent calendar items.

Meeting details are provided in the section below. Future Planning Commission and City Council agendas will be posted on the City’s Agenda & Minutes Public Meeting Portal and meeting information shared on this page.
