Project Description

This Planning Application consists of a Zoning Reclassification and Zoning Code Amendment for a Qualified (Q) Overlay zoning designation, which establishes alternative development standards for the site primarily to accommodate the construction of a new classroom building addition.
The project would accommodate the proposed demolition of an existing one-story 2,730 square-foot classroom building, the construction of a new two-story 6,006 square-foot classroom and multi-purpose room building, two 1,020 square-foot temporary relocatable classroom buildings, and site improvements to the existing courtyard.
A modification to the school’s existing Special Use Permit is also approved, which increases staff employment to 52 staff members, and increases student enrollment to 258 students.

On June 3, 2019, by a vote of 4-0, the City Council adopted a Resolution to approve the Site Plan and Architectural Review for a new classroom addition and Special Use Permit Modification for increased limits on staff and students.
An Ordinance approving a Zoning Reclassification and Zoning Code Amendment was also introduced to the City Council and was adopted by the City Council at a second reading on June 17, 2019.
