Adult Summer Reading

Children's Summer Learning / Reading Challenge

Read books and perform learning activities all summer and earn prizes!  Come to the Main, Marina, or Hillsdale Libraries to pick up a reading log to record your progress and receive a free book. 
To complete the challenge:
  • Children under 5: do 30 activities of reading, singing, playing, writing, and talking.
  • Kindergarten - 5th grade: read for 30 blocks of 15 minutes and do 6 activities.
  • 6th grade and above: read 5 books and write a short review for each and do 6 activities. 
Return your completed logs and receive drawing tickets for a chance to win a $1,000 scholarship and other prizes.

Teen Summer Learning 

Pick up a reading log and read 5 books and complete 6 activities this summer for the chance to win a $1,000 scholarship or Beats headphones!

For each book review completed receive a scratcher ticket for a chance to win gift cards to Books, Inc., ear buds, books, cell phone chargers and other prizes.

Adult Summer Reading 

Read any print or ebook - or listen to an audiobook - and write a review. The forms will be available near the 2nd and 3rd floor reference desks at the Main Library. Be sure to include your name and contact information to be entered into a drawing to win a Kindle Fire at the end of the summer.
