What’s Happening at the Wastewater Treatment Plant Site? Wastewater Treatment Plant Construction Graphic

We’re improving our infrastructure for a better, cleaner environment.  In July 2020, we began driving 2,000 piles to stabilize our state-of-the-art wastewater treatment plant upgrade.

The pile driving hours will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. No night work is planned, but from time to time, we may need to complete some work on a weekend. The bulk of the piles will be in the first stage, expected to take six months, then there will be a six-month inspection stage, before the final stage of piles, to take two and a half months.

We’ve made mitigations to reduce the noise including a sound wall, and a shroud around the drill pump. We’re also using a second pile-driving rig to expedite this stage of the project. Every pile in is one step closer to completion.

The piles will be delivered by truck as they are needed each day, which means you won’t see truck parking on J. Hart Clinton Drive and E. Third Avenue. The piles will be delivered between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on work days, but we will take a breather from 4 - 5:30 p.m. to get out of the way of our commuters.
