Jean-Marc Brugeilles, Paintings
July 7, 2022 - August 30, 2022

Originally from Lyon, France, Bay Area artist Jean-Marc Brugeilles creates paintings that have a surreal quality and are inspired by dreams.  His work is organized around powerful themes of daily life, dreams and poems, magnified and transfigured.  His paintings tell stories which are rich in symbols and essential myths.  He makes his own canvasses using a technique from the Middle Ages and makes oil paints according to a recipe from the 15th Century.  There is a depth to the painting that is close to enamel.  The techniques can be seen on his website,

Patricia Hemminger, Glass Flowers
July 1, 2022 - August 29, 2022

Artist Patricia Hemminger believes, “Each medium in which I work, I look to transform -- giving clay, glass or canvas a soul -- while creating a visual treat for the eyes.  I am moved by dimensional work and gravitate toward the hot arts -- things that involve a kiln, fire, soldering, casting, torches, welding, a glow.  My current passion is glass, kiln formed and lampworking.  Art should reflect the world not as it is, but the world as it ought to be.  I hope that my art makes you smile and takes your breath away.”
