Beresford Park Playground Renovation
The Parks and Recreation Department received and budgeted park improvement funding to renovate the Beresford Park playground. The 23 year old playground had served Beresford Park well, but needed a renovation. The City made improvements to the playground, surrounding pathways and landscaping at Beresford Park. Laurelwood Park and Sugarloaf Open Space Management Plan

The Parks and Recreation Department amended the Laurelwood Park and Sugarloaf Open Space Management Plan, originally adopted by the City Council in 2007. Over the past few years, many members of the public expressed an interest in allowing more hiking trails as part of the Management Plan. The proposed plan amendment was designed to meet this interest. City Council adopted the amendment to the Laurelwood Park and Sugarloaf Mountain Open Space Management Plan on October 5, 2015.  Learn more about this project

Los Prados Park Synthetic Turf Project

In August 2015, Los Prados Park re-opened with the following key improvements:
  • Athletic Field converted to synthetic turf
  • Pathways repaired and resurfaced
  • Parking lot accessibility improvements
  • More trees
