Any golfer can tell you golf is a strategic sport – the chess of physical activity. It is a game of skill and teaches critical thinking and mental focus, all great skills for your child to learn. Parks and Recreation has special golf opportunities geared specially to youth that are affordable ways to get involved in and learn about the sport. Through our golf program your child will:

  • Strengthen core muscles
  • Increase flexibility
  • Learn the basics of the game of golf
  • Learn lessons on sportsmanship
  • Build new friendships and increase socialization

Park and Recreation golf program incorporates instruction with actual time on our Poplar Creek Golf Course. Some golf lessons are solely taught on putting greens but we believe the best way to learn to golf is to play golf. Our youth program is tailored to the young golfer and in addition to instruction we offer:

  • Youth seminars on etiquette and rules of golf
  • “Under 18” Golfer Club
  • Special discounted pricing for Junior golfers (under 17)
  • NCGA certified programs
