2.45 Parks and Recreation Dept.

2.45.010 CREATION -- POWERS -- DUTIES. The department of parks and recreation is created. It shall have the responsibility for the review of landscaping of proposed development, management, control and general supervision of the public parks, islands and ovals, public facilities landscaping, playgrounds, recreational centers, swimming pools, the municipal golf courses, and all other recreational and human services facilities and programs of the city. It shall consist of the director of parks and recreation and such assistants as may from time to time be approved by the city council. 2.45.020 DIRECTOR OF PARKS AND RECREATION. The director of parks and recreation shall be appointed by and serve at the pleasure of the city manager. The director shall be the head of the department of parks and recreation and be responsible for carrying out the duties as may from time to time be prescribed by the city council or city manager.
