The Department of Public Works is implementing a street reconstruction project at 30th Avenue from Alameda de las Pulgas to Flores Street. 

This project consists of “street reconstruction” of pavement section up to 24 inches in depth from lip of gutter to lip of gutter; ovelay 4.5 inches of asphalt concrete pavement; install wheelchair ramps where applicable; repair concrete curb & gutter, driveway approach and sidewalk as necessary to maintain stormwater surface runoff within the project limits.

“Street Reconstruction” - Generally includes the removal of all existing asphalt surfacing, excavation of the road subgrade materials, and replacement of storm and sewer as necessary.  The road is re-built from the bottom-up, with new aggregate base and new asphalt concrete pavement.

Completed Work:

As a prerequisite to the Street Reconstruction Project, utility owners have performed utility relocation work over the past six (6) months that were identified to be in conflict with the proposed street improvements.  Utility relocation and site restoration work will continue through September 2016.

Impact due to Utility Relocation Work: -      Road closure is mandatory for roadway excavation on Monday to Friday, between 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. During excavation operations, road closure may be implemented at least one street block at a time.
-      Driveways and curbside parking within the construction zone will not be accessible.
-      Traffic is subject to detour; please obey the detour signs.
-      Expect delay when traveling through this neighborhood.
-      Expect delay when getting into and out of your garage.
-      Front yard, sidewalk, and driveway may be temporary disturbed and will be restored within the duration of the project.

Upcoming Work:

Street reconstruction work will take place after utility relocation work.  Weather permitting, concrete work will take place in October.  After the concrete work is complete, deep roadway excavation and paving work will take place in approximately 500 feet intervals from Alameda de las Pulgas to Flores Street.

Impact due to Street Reconstruction Work: -      Extended road closure is mandatory for deep excavation of existing roadway.
-      Work Hours: Monday to Friday, between 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Saturdays, between 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
-      Road closure is mandatory at least one street block at a time.
-      Driveways and curbside parking within the area of excavation and backfill construction zone will not be accessible.
-      Traffic is subject to detour; please obey the detour signs.
-      Expect delay when traveling through this neighborhood.
-      Expect delay when getting into and out of your garage.
-      Front yard, sidewalk, and driveway may be temporary disturbed and will be restored within the duration of the project.
