Tea Ceremony

Kids Day!
DATE: Saturday, August 13, 2016
TIME: 10:00am to 12:00pm
LOCATION: Central Park Recreation Center
DETAILS:Youth instruction in the Japanese art mediums of Ikebana, Calligraphy and Origami.
Register at www.erecreg.com for course #71747 for Calligraphy and Ikebana for ages 10-15 years of age. Origami will be offered for free on a drop-in basis for children ages 6-10. Register early, limited seating.
PRICE: $10 per child

Yi Jin Jing Demonstration
DATE: Sunday, August 14, 2016
TIME: 8:30am - 9:30am
LOCATION: Japanese Garden, Central Park
DETAILS: Yi Jin Jing is a meditative form of Qi Gong that focuses on tendon stretching and breath work. Come to watch or feel free to participate! No formal instruction will be provided.

Bonsai Demonstration

DATE: Sunday, August 14, 2016
TIME: 11:00am to 1:00pm
LOCATION: Japanese Garden, Central Park
DETAILS:The demonstration will be held in the Japanese Garden and will show the process of creating and maintaining a bonsai.

Martial Arts Demonstration
DATE: Sunday, August 21, 2016
TIME: 1:00pm to 3:00pm
LOCATION: Outdoor Stage in Central Park
DETAILS: Come watch an exciting martial arts demonstration in Central Park! Different practices of martial arts will be performing, including Aikido and Shorinji Kempo.

Japanese Garden 50th Anniversary Celebration Gala
DATE: Saturday, August 27, 2016
Japanese Garden Ceremony, 5:30pm to 6:30pm
DETAILS:To include Japanese Taiko Drum performance, flag presentation and speeches from dignitaries, both locally and our sister City in Toyonaka.  This is free and open to all.

Dinner Gala at Central Park Recreation Center, 6:30pm to 8:30pm
DETAILS:To Include music, dance, presentation of gifts and includes with a sit-down dinner.
