Harbortown Heros Heed the Call
The Lagoon Community volunteers turned out to clean Marina Lagoon once again. 36 Harbortown volunteers converged at the main dock on Saturday, March 21st to pick up trash along Fashion Island Blvd, Mariner’s Island Blvd, Armada Way, the lagoon shoreline, under the docks and foot bridges. Thanks to all the volunteers who made this a real community effort.
By the numbers: 36 residents + 1 boat + 2hours + a dumpster full of trash = a shoreline is that is much cleaner and safer because of their work. Discarded items from toys to syringes are ugly and, over time they block the flood control channel that homeowners rely on to keep them safe in wet weather.
Thank you to Linda and Richard Hedges for coordinating this event with City support.
