||The proposed project includes first-story modifications and second-story additions of approximately 9,409 s.f. to existing buildings on The Carey School campus. Negligible expansion of the existing footprint of the school campus is proposed. The Carey School is requesting ratification of the existing number of students and staff. Currently, the school has 249 students enrolled and 47 faculty/staff. Weekday summer school programming held at the school is to be formally added to the use permit conditions. Off-site parking located at a nearby commercial site (1900, 1950 and 2000 Alameda de las Pulgas) is proposed to accommodate a portion of the required faculty parking and special events parking. The project complies with the residential development standards with respect to FAR, height, and setbacks.

||At a public hearing held on Tuesday evening, December 11, 2012 at 7:30pm in the City Council Chambers of City Hall, 330 West 20th Avenue, the Planning Commission approved the planning application.
