City Council Member Election
A General Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 for the purpose of electing 3 council members to fill the offices now held by Brandt Grotte, David Lim, and Robert Ross and to serve 4-year terms commencing December 5, 2013 and until the general municipal election in November 2017 and the election and qualification of the successor.
Qualifications for Office
A person must be a registered voter of the City of San Mateo and have resided continuously in San Mateo for at least 30 days immediately preceding the appointment or final filing date for nomination papers.
Campaign Contributions
In 2005, the City Council adopted campaign contribution limits to City Candidate campaigns.  Individual contributions cannot exceed $250 and organization contributions cannot exceed $500.  Additionally, a candidate cannot personally make a loan to their campaign an amount which exceeds $15,000.
