 South Trunk Sanitary Sewer Relief Project - Phase I

Impacted Areas:   
  • Sunnybrae Neighborhood: Sunnybrae Blvd, Idaho Street to S. Amphlett Boulevard
  • Shoreview Neighborhood: Public Easement Running from 101 to Patricia (located between Royal & Young) 

Expected to Commence: Construction is expected to commence in early 2014.

Expected to Finish: Spring 2015.  

Work Hours: 

     
  • Typical construction: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
  • "Tunneling Operations" Only: Monday - Saturday, 7:00 am - 7:00 pm
  • Emergency Work (if necessary): Possible night work 

Short Description of Work: 
Phase I of the South Trunk Sanitary Sewer Relief Project site is located along Sunnybrae Boulevard between South Amphlett Boulevard and Idaho Street as well as under Highway 101 to Patricia Avenue in the City of San Mateo. This phase includes the installation of a sewer relief line that will carry wet weather flows from the Southwest area of San Mateo to the City’s Dale Avenue pump station. This relief line will consist of roughly 1,000 feet of new pipelines ranging from 42 inches to 54 inches in diameter as well as a 66-inch steel casing under Highway 101.

The Project’s primary objective is alleviating sanitary sewer overflows.
