All residents and visitors of San Mateo use our pedestrian network. Our pedestrian network is comprised of sidewalks, curb ramps, crosswalks and other improvements located within and near the sidewalk.

We are striving to be a more pedestrian-friendly city. Our Citywide Pedestrian Master Plan has been released for Public Review.  This plan studied pedestrian travel in the City, analyzed collision data and developed recommendations to improve pedestrian access throughout The City.

One of the ways we safeguard pedestrian travel is by installing crosswalks.
