About Public Works Traffic
When traffic engineers view roadways, they see more than asphalt and cars. They see a network of roads that intersect and form an overall transit system. This system has many different kinds of streets and each type of street is aimed at supporting different levels of traffic and types of vehicles.
In short, not all roads can accommodate industrial vehicles, heavy traffic, or high speeds. Roads are built for the traffic they are designed to support.
In order to best manage our network of roadways, we have a host of traffic-related tools and programs at our disposal to help guide us in our daily decisions. We do our best to respond to individual requests while ensuring safe traffic flow and parking availability for the community.
