Due to the overwhelming popularity of our private sewer lateral assistance program, we have expended all Program funding source for this fiscal year and are no longer accepting applications for the Private Sewer Lateral Cost Sharing Program.

Please note that if you are currently enrolled in the Private Lateral Program but did not sign a grant/loan agreement with the City of San Mateo, you will need to submit a new application in July 2013.

If I complete my private sewer lateral repairs in the interim, can I get reimbursed if I sign up in July?
The Program is undergoing evaluation and modification at this time. The likely answer is no, but please check back in July 2013 for details about the program guidelines.
What about the Low Interest Loan?
We do not have any low interest loans available at this time. Please check back in July regarding any new loans that might be available to fund for repairing your private sewer lateral.
If I live in my single-family, owner-occupied home and earn below the median income ($81,573), do I still qualify for funding assistance at this time?
No, we have expended all Program funds at this time. Please check back in July for program updates.
Can I still get a free video inspection?
We are no longer providing free video inspections at this time.
Does the City of San Mateo require private sewer lateral inspection/repairs at point of sale?
Not at this time, but this will likely be required in the future. Please check back later this year or 2014 for more information.
