What is the makeup/cancellation policy?
Because this is a performance based camp and your child will have a part, we strongly discourage absences. And, because the camps culminate in a live production where your child will have an on-stage role, there isn’t a makeup policy.

Will my child have the opportunity to perform?
Yes! All children will be part of the production.

Will every child get a speaking/specialty role?
Every child will have a part in the production but not every one will have a speaking role. The number of speaking and specialty singing or dancing opportunities is based upon the number of roles available in the script. We stress the importance of every participant working together and being an important part in building the ensemble numbers.

Does the City of San Mateo have any partners?
Yes. We partner with The Bay Area Educational Theater Company. For more information, you can visit them at www.BayAreaETC.org.

Are there any volunteer opportunities?
Yes, we rely on our parents and family members to help us with the productions. We have many volunteer opportunities from set painting to props and more. Please contact Bay Area eTc for volunteer information, www.bayareaetc.org.

Is experience required?
No, your child will receive training in dance, voice and/or acting required for the production. We have a variety of skill levels with many performers being new to theater with little or no previous acting, dancing or singing experience. Many of our young performers are also returning from previous summer camps.
