Civic Facilities oversees construction or major improvements to city-owned properties.  We are currently overseeing the construction of a new police station with an expected completion date of 2009. 



Project Location:

The new facility will be located at 200 Franklin Parkway, formerly 3200 Saratoga Drive (Saratoga Drive and Franklin Parkway) in the Gateway Area of the Bay Meadows Phase I development. The surrounding area includes office, commercial and residential uses with Franklin Parkway and the Franklin Office Campus to the north, residential areas to the west, gas station and Hillsdale Blvd. to the south and Saratoga Drive and commercial/mixed use development to the east.

Project Description:

Current Status as of September 2008:

Now that the exterior framing and sheathing are almost complete, the true form and shape of the building is being revealed.  Soon the plaster and stone finishes will be going up and the building textures will be evident.  The interior architecture can now be seen as the interior walls are finished.  The month of September promises activites such as interior painting and finishes, including installation of doors, ceilings, interior glazing, flooring and ceramic tile.  Work will also commence on the driveway ramps and the site concrete and concrete masonry unit walls.  Substantial completion of the project is estimated to be in the Spring of 2009.
