Deborah Hong is a Bay Area artist who specializes in both Korean and Chinese brush painting. While she enjoys painting as a form of meditation, the art she produces is often full of energy and life, echoing her own restless spirit.
August 9 - September 24 @ Exhibit Case, 2nd Floor
Scott Shaffer creates bold ceramic pieces using various firing and glazing techniques. He decorates them with feathers and other natural findings to finish the final piece. His work will be on exhibit in the library's second floor display case from August 9 through September 24, 2012.
September 2 - September 3 @ San Mateo Public Libraries
The Main Library will be closed Sunday, September 2 as part of budget reduction measures in FY 2012-13. All San Mateo City Libraries will be closed Monday, September 3 for the Labor Day Holiday.
