Jane Henri paints faces. She likes them all -- young, old, thick, thin, gnarled or model perfect. She uses Japanese Sumi-e paints, finding the fluidity and rich pigment ideal for her bold work. She applies color in precise places on the canvas so they seem both casual and deliberate.
