For filmmaker George Lucas, telling the story of the Tuskegee Airmen has been a passion project for decades.  From the time he first heard the story of these brave men as recounted by a friend, Lucas knew it would make a compelling film and one that would inspire today's youth to value traits such as perseverance, honor and integrity, to name a few.  Thus began a 23-year journey that would see numerous screenplays written and re-written, each delving into different aspects of the Airmen's remarkable history on a quest to tell the tale and honor these true American heroes.
